Arik's Kingdom

Description

The Opens
Location on the very edge of Hisakousen Forest. The domain of Arik and Tenrai spans from the shore to the mountains. The forest that takes up the space in-between is their home and the area they rule. The opens are a location just before the mountains, where the trees clear. Arik enjoys this place, but Tenrai, preferring the safety of the deep forest, rarely comes here.

This was a headache of a drawing. So...much..environment! But I am DETERMINED TO STOP BEING LAZY. I gotta learn by doing... ugh. No matter how much of a headache it is. So many reference photos I have saved on my computer.

I love Arik XD I'm going to have to post something that shows his personality soon though. He's much less serious than his sister. And he often pokes fun at her mood.

The sacred tree here gave me NO WHERE NEAR as much trouble as it did with the one in the Swamp.

So this is my favorite Sacred Tree so far.

And Arik's new nickname is Jesus Deer. He can walk on water, and turn water into orange juice. See?

Starting out this is my second critique ever.

Alright first off I love the flow of the river in this it really guides the eye. My peeve for this on is that the deer's back seems a little thin compared to the rest of him and doesn't seem to connect to the base of his neck. I'm not sure if it's because of the perspective you were going for but to me it just seems to thing.
The rocks and mountains are very well detailed as is the water. The grass has a soft feel to it and it seems like you could almost touch it.
