I thought I would have more to say about this o-o but I'm drawing a blank. Basically I wanted to make a picture of Daring Do inspired by concepts and environments from Uncharted, one of my absolute favorite games of all time. Also, I wanted to practice interior environments. I'm kind of suck at those.
It wasn't my aim to refine to full detail, just do a sketchy "Speed Paint"
It actually reminds me of Tomb Raider: Underworld (Which was more of an action/adventure/puzzle game than Uncharted's over-the-shoulder shooting) Primarily cause of what appears to be a doppleganger in the distance. (Those who've played the game know what i'm referring to)
Now then, onto the important stuff. Most anything that can be critiqued on, (like all things) are a matter of taste and preference. I love this piece, the color and shade blend is smooth, and precise. I am however, rather partial to more well defined edges, with a sharper look to them. The use of color in this piece was also sort of a treat. It somewhat feels as though there are large, bio/chemiluminescent objects in the area that adds to the emerald green look, which gives it a somewhat mysterious appearance, since it is not a natural color. The cages are cool, and unique, which adds to the same thought process that it was once lived in by intelligent beings. (Maybe changelings?) If there is anything i would have thought might have made this picture 20% cooler, it would be an old photographer's trick: Framing. Having some vines, tubers, or even branches hanging down over the top of the image would have greatly added to the perspective (as though you were crouched in the bushes watching her) There was a great use of a similar trick by adding a "invisible path" that leads the eye from one portion of the picture to the other. This case being the waterway, to the crossed bridges, to the depths of the abyss. Awesome job, can't wait to see more.
