I really like drawing this younger version of Samantha for some reason, haha. Maybe its the hair. Maybe its the +10 Angst.

I've been meaning to upload this. Just kept forgetting I had it.

this portrait conveys the expression extremely well, using the basics of cartooning and without exaggerating too much creates a slightly life like feel. the colour palette consists of warm colours suggesting drowsy days and that half dreamlike state that one usually falls into. the slightly slouched back and relaxed expression shows a theme of comfort and, again, warmth. the paint textured background also conveys a sense of drowsiness in itself bringing the focus of the picture straight into the expression of the character. I give only a three and a half star rating for originality as this is a moment that we all feel ourselves and so not meant to be original; but creates a lovely effect filled with school memories and seasonal warmth. the portrait overall has a very summery feel with a warm glow and familiar expression for all of us. great work Stalcry!

Very well done. Mind if I ask what program you use?
I have GIMP and I'm extremely novice at it and well......anything photoshop. Pointers?

I use quite a few programs actually. This particular one I used Krita for. I have been operating almost exclusively on Linux for over a month using Krita and MyPaint (And occasionally Gimp) for art tools

I also use Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai if I'm on my Windows machine. Gimp is a lovely program for painting and awesome things can be done with it for sure! Some of my personal favorite of my own art has been done in Gimp 2.6 (im not so crazy about the 2.8 update). There are tons of programs out there, and lots of them are even free. I suggest trying them out until you find one or ones you are comfortable with.

However, its been horrible. hahaha photoshop level: -99

I seriously don't know why I love this picture so much O_O............maybe it's the lighting....or the softness of the character's face, or perhaps the eyes and the shadows on the character's shirt..............pfoidskfals;fjk you know what I'm just going to say I love it all and be done with it =3= *continues to stare at picture* in five minutes....
