Tenrai's Sanctuary

The Swamp
Location of Hisakousen Forest where many spirits reside so that they are not bothered by the living. It can be dangerous for humans or regular animals to tread here. The terrain is mainly water with small islands.

Tenrai sees over this part of the Forest among other places. Her brother, Arik, does not come here often. As in every region there is a sacred tree at the center. (There is one Mother Tree in the VERY center of the forest, and several others spread throughout.)

I spent about 4 hours on this? Which isnt long at all but for ME. That is relatively long. I'm not a detail person...which is why this doesn't have much. I was practicing with environments and mostly water...trees...forests. I looked up a lot of reference trees of swamps and forests with BIG trees and whatnot.


This location was indeed inspired by Mononoke a little, have to admit. There are other locations like this in the forest I plan to draw with Tenrai and Arik.
